This sample demonstrates the use of the ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine redaction feature. During image export, you can hide the images of specific fields thus redacting confidential information and other sensitive data.

You can see that some areas on the document were redacted, but the data was still extracted

The sample processes images from the specified folder using the selected Document Definition. The Document Definition has several fields selected to redaction during Document Definition configuration. The sample creates a FlexiCapture processor, which recognizes the images. When exporting recognized data, the images of specific fields are filled with black color and therefore their contents are not visible on the image. The result of processing is displayed in a form of a tree with recognized data. The recognized fields are highlighted on the image.

To view how it works:

  1. Select the folder with images to process and the Document Definition, which should be used for processing. You can restore the default settings by clicking Restore defaults.
  2. To recognize an image, click Process image.
  3. After the image is recognized, the sensitive fields are hidden on the image, and the recognized data appears in a tree to the right of the image. You can click on an element in the tree to view it on the image.
  4. To navigate between images, use the buttons below the image.
